Hol Chan, one of the top 10 wonders of the world

Holchan is one of the most visited marine parks 10 minutes away from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. It sits on the top 10 wonders in the world.

That’s why we like to go earlier than most of the other companies that all go at 9am or at 2pm. We leave town at 8am or at 1pm to beat the rush.

Depending on your location we may pick you up earlier. When we get to Holchan we’ll give you a short briefing of the park.

We then help you get acquainted with your gear and the water. Once everybody is fine then the guide will take you to the best spots on the reef and also naming the different fish and corals around.

We then move on to Shark Ray Alley where we then start feeding the Nears Sharks and southern stingray while you snorkel next to them.

Then we work our way back to where we pick you up. Tour last 4 hrs.

Never snorkel?

If you never snorkel before we will be more than happy to show you how and to get you comfortable in the water. We need at least 4 people to confirm a trip.

They picked us up on a dock just down from our hotel. We were trolling almost immediately. We then moved to bottom fishing in 300’ where we caught plenty of red snappper. Next they took us closer to the reef where we spearfished / snorkeled for lobster and fish. We bagged lobster to add to our catch. By then it was lunch time and we hit a beach where Joel & JR prepared our caught fish and lobster. The lunch was delicious! To finish off the day we trolled in the deep water and caught black fin tuna, spanish mackerel, and bonito. Let’s say we were exhausted and slept so good that night. They catered to our fishing preferences and were supper easy to communicate with. We did the full day fishing and couldn’t commend it more! We caught lots of fish (barracuda, snapper and jacks), plus some lobsters on the second day.  Great local vibe, great snorkeling locations (sharks, rays, reefs, everything), and a really fun beach BBQ with the fish and lobster we caught.  100% recommend for a genuine experience with a down to earth, local guide with a deep knowledge of the reef and a humble willingness to share it.

He knows the good fishing spots and is very knowledgeable, since he's been fishing all of his life.
